Congregational singing and organ music from Dirksland

This CD arose from my work as a church organist in Holland. It consist of hymns from the Geneva Psalter. On the island of Goeree Overflakkee the practice of the Dutch Reformed Church has for the most part been to sing isorhythmically (in minims only). Improvisation plays an important role in this tradition, and the 150 metrical psalms have for centuries been an important source of inspiration for organists. Apart from congregational singing this recording include instrumental variations of the hymn tunes played on this magnificent historical instrument
